Hernando County Parks Master Plan

The purpose of the Hernando County Parks and Recreation Master Plan is to prepare a long-term plan and vision that meets the needs of County residents, contributes to County tourism objectives, and has a positive impact upon the local economy.

The master plan process will include public involvement with participation from County residents, including those that currently do not use the parks system; the Tourism Development Council (TDC), recreation advocacy groups, homeowners’ associations and civic associations, other identified key stakeholder groups, and the County staff.

Study Area

The study area includes all the County-owned and maintained parks within Hernando County:

  • Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park
  • Lake Townsen Regional Park
  • Anderson Snow Park
  • Linda Pedersen Park at Jenkins Creek
  • Bayport Park
  • Lonnie C. Coburn Park
  • Cypress Lake Preserve
  • Nobleton Wayside Park
  • Delta Woods Park
  • Pioneer Park/Stewy's Skate Park
  • Ernie Wever Youth Park
  • Ridge Manor Community Park
  • Fickett Hammock Preserve
  • Rogers Park
  • Hill N Dale Park
  • Rotary Centennial Park
  • Jenkins Creek Park
  • Veterans Memorial Park
  • Coach Lorenzo Hamilton Sr. Park

Learn more about the Master Plan and share your ideas and input to improve Hernando County Parks. Meeting will begin with a brief presentation and then transition to an open house format. Participants are welcome at any time.
